About IRS

Welcome to the UPM Institutional Repository System!

At the heart of the university, the library serves as the repository of knowledge, offering an array of services and resources to support the scholarly endeavors of the whole academic and research community. With the increasing number of research outputs across the institution, the University Library, in collaboration with the UPM Digital Transformation Project Team, developed an institutional repository, a digital platform for preserving and utilizing an institution's intellectual assets, particularly research outputs.

The UPM Institutional Repository System (UPM IRS) is an integrated platform for collecting and disseminating the research outputs created by the university's faculty, students, staff, and researchers. It also extends the reach of UPM's research outputs while ensuring long-term preservation.

MISSION

The mission of UPM IRS is to serve as a dynamic platform to promote collaboration, discovery, and impactful change in academia and the research community by improving access to intellectual resources and encouraging information exchange among faculty, staff, students, and researchers.

KEY FEATURES
Discovery and Retrieval

The UPM IRS provides extensive discovery and retrieval features that let users quickly access relevant resources in our collection. Accessibility to research outputs increases the visibility and impact of the institution's intellectual work, reaching a larger audience and encouraging more engagement with the research.

Digital Preservation

The UPM IRS assures the long-term preservation of digital materials, protecting the integrity and accessibility of scholarly works for future generations.

Version Tracking

The UPM IRS uses version control systems to track changes and updates to deposited content, preserving the accuracy and reliability of the stored data.

Access Analytics

UPM IRS tracks usage statistics and analytics to assess the impact and reach of the repository's content. Usage metrics such as downloads, views, and citations contribute to evaluating the repository's effectiveness in promoting research dissemination and knowledge exchange.

Compliance

The UPM IRS follows best practices and standards for digital preservation and metadata management, guaranteeing adherence to applicable policies and regulations.

GET INVOLVED

We encourage faculty, staff, students, and researchers to contribute actively to our scholarly repository system. It broadens the reach and impact of the repository and ensures wide dissemination of the research output across the academic and research community.
